OANDA
Trading forex since 1996. Fully regulated in the US, no minimum deposit, and spreads that have won awards.
Fact sheet
What kind of broker is it?
OANDA is a currency house through and through. Accountants at companies around the world use its OANDA Rates exchange-rate data, and corporate treasury desks and professional traders plug into its API. For clients it offers tight spreads without commission. It was founded in 1996, which makes it one of the longest-running forex specialists, and it holds something rare: full US licensing for retail forex, as an NFA-registered firm. The flip side of the focus is a thinner stock offering than you would get on a multi-asset platform.
Where the points come from
These points measure fit, not rank. When a broker gets 5.0 for something, we judged it by the demands of its own category and did not compare it with every other broker.

Is it right for you?
Three groups get the most from OANDA: people who trade mainly forex, US residents looking for a regulated forex broker, and developers and quants who want to work with the API. For deep stock or options coverage, choose something else.
Trading CFDs means trading with leverage, and losing money is a real and high risk. Check that this broker may legally serve residents of your country before you deposit. Its full risk warning is on its official website.
